Rudy Giuliani, currently the mayor of New York City, isn't discussing the situation regarding him doing a third term. The mayoral primary was scheduled for September 11, but postponed due to the attack.
Giuliani's term runs out on December 31 of 2001. He served two full terms, but many New Yorkers don't want to see him go. On a random poll 45% of the people want to postpone Rudy leaving until New York gets back on its feet. New York limits bar of a third term from happening, but many Americans believe that there are certain exceptions to the rule.
New York is in a horrible state right now regarding this attack and many people are frightened to change the system. The crime rate last week alone has been the lowest in about 30 years. Giuliani continues to strive for those goals until the end of his term.
The mayor still doesn't feel the need to address the issue. He discusses other important issues like the subways back on, the economy struggling to bounce back, and the hope of trying to find survivors.
The New Yorkers need to keep someone they trust and that is Rudy. He knows New York inside out and he needs to remain there to help the city get back on its feet. However, only time will tell as we wait to see who will become the next mayor of New York.
